It seems like everyone is wearing a fitness watch to track steps and heart rates, but is doing more harm then good?
As technology improves, we are becoming increasingly tied to our electronic devices. Fitness trackers are no exception. Wearable trackers communicate with Bluetooth technology. As such, they emit non-ionizing electromagnetic frequencies (EMF) similar to cell phones and other electronic devices. While minimal, studies have been finding that continued exposure to EMF radiation is not good for humans.
Exposure to high amounts of EMF can wreak havoc on a body’s nervous system functioning. Exposure can cause stress, fatigue, headaches, sleep disturbances, and even various cancers.
Unfortunately, EMF is present everywhere in our everyday lives. Power lines, wi-fi, cell phone towers and electrical appliances all emit EMF radiation in small amounts. As we compound our exposure with things like wearable trackers, that small amount of exposure can grow exponentially.
We wear our fitness trackers 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, potentially for years.
We may not see the harm in our generation, but no one knows what damage we could be doing to the cells in our bodies for future generations.
