Despite the fact that it’s really painful, I do it because I can’t afford laser hair removal.
It’s not uncommon for people to pluck a stray hair using tweezers, but for me, I use the pliers on my multi-tool. Why? Because it works!
When I say it’s painful, it’s not excruciating pain, but it’s not very pleasant either. But when I say I’m plucking facial hairs, I’m not talking about a little peach fuzz. I’m pulling manly hairs, like the wacky strays with the thickness of beard and mustache hair that pop up on my face where they aren’t supposed to. For the ladies, if you don’t know about manly mustache hairs, these are very thick. That’s why pliers work so much better than tweezers.
Oh, if you’re wondering about nose and ear hairs, they’re not off limits either.
I’ve been told this is stupid.
I’ve also been told, “if it hurts, don’t do it” (for the record, it was always a woman who said this). Now ladies, if you gasp at the thought of pulling nose hairs with pliers, need I remind you of this thing many of you do called waxing?
Yeah, same difference.
If anyone reading this wants to buy me one of those neat home laser hair removal units, I’d be more than happy to use it (that was a subtle hint) and write a review on it with a gracious thank you. I’m also happy to accept a a gift card to a professional laser place (that was another subtle hint), which will also garner a fine review..
But I don’t think anyone is going to be so kind as to gift me either of these, so in the meantime, I’ll keep using my pliers.
Beauty takes work, and if I have to use non-traditional tools to get the job done, so be it.
Don’t knock it until you try it!
